What is Science FUNday?

Science FUNday is our annual community event hosted by Science FUNdamentals and the Faculty of Science. We feature over 75 interactive demonstrations, presentations, and tours!

​

We attract upwards of 2500 - 3000 attendees yearly, and with your help, we can make Science FUNday 2020 even better. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about science and who want to make an impact on the next generation of young minds.
 
When? 
Date: Saturday Feb 29th, 2020
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where?
CCIS, Biological Sciences Building, & Quad

• There are 3 different shifts that you can sign up for:

  • All Day Shift: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Morning Shift: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

  • Afternoon Shift: 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.

​

• Roles

  • Lead one of our interactive science demonstrations as a FUNday Scientist, including Strawberry DNA, Making Slime, Burning Ions, the classic Volcano, Elephant Toothpaste, and more

  • Shuttle tours to some of the amazing laboratories and museums that the Faculty of Science has to offer

  • Work behind the scenes as a FUNday Facilitator to keep the event running smoothly

  • Science FUNdamentals executives will verify volunteer hours for applications and resumes

  • A unique opportunity to improve on presentation skills, meet new people, and share your knowledge and passion for science with children and families!
