Science FUNdamentals is a registered charity and student group at the University of Alberta that aims to enhance elementary science education using interactive demonstrations. We have a wide range of activities focusing on subjects from buoyancy and surface tension to genetics and human physiology. We also hold an annual science exhibition, known as Science FUNday, at the University of Alberta in February. FUNday offers over 80 exciting demonstrations, tours to laboratories and museums on campus, and invited STEM speakers from a variety of scientific disciplines.

Meet Our Execs
I'm in my final year of after-degree nursing, with a background in physiology and biomedical research. I have been with SciFUN since the beginning of my undergrad and I am excited to see where the organization will go next. You can find me endlessly meal-prepping in the kitchen, playing with my bunny, writing music, or at the gym!
I am currently in my 3rd year of Physiology at the UofA and I have been volunteering with SciFUN since my 1st year. I am really excited to work with this wonderful team and continue to inspire kids to love science. When I’m not busy with school, you can find me reading or doodling at cafés around the city!
Hi! I’m Tianyi and I study biology, with a minor in earth and atmospheric sciences. SciFUN stood out to me as an organization because it allowed me to share my passion for science by teaching others. My favourite part has to be when a child’s eyes light up when they learn something cool!
Hi! My name is Faith and I'm entering my fourth and final year of Neuroscience and third year with Science FUNdamentals. Science holds a special place in my heart and I love having the opportunity to inspire this passion and curiosity in our young scientists! When I'm not studying or in the lab, I'll be trying out a new baking recipe, riding my bike or holding a Marvel/Harry Potter movie marathon.
I’m in the third year of my BSc in psychology as well as my third year of being in SciFUN and am excited for what this year will bring, despite the circumstances! I spend most of my time studying, debating between drinking coffee or bubble tea, re-telling the latest true crime doc I’ve watched to my friends, and of course, volunteering!
Hey everyone! My name is Jason and I recently completed my Psychology Specialization degree. This is going to be my third year with SciFUN and my second as an exec, and I am ecstatic to see where the organization goes with such an amazing team behind it. You can find me around campus fueling my caffeine addiction, working in my lab, or chatting with friends!
FUNday Activities Director
Hello! I am currently in my third-year science degree and I love donuts. I hope to help make FUNday 2020 the most unforgettable yet!
General Activities Director
I am in my 3rd year of electrical engineering and this is my second year volunteering with Sci Fun. I am excited to be a part of the exec team this year and pitch my new demo ideas. When I am not studying, I am usually playing sports or music.
I'm entering my third year as a SciFun member and third year of the General Sciences program! Whether you'll find me in the community with friends or volunteering, I'm excited to help create memorable experiences and share our passion for science with younger students this year!
I am a Physiology graduate from the University of Alberta. This year will also be my fifth year with Science FUNdamentals and I am so excited to see what the year will bring! When I am not studying, you’ll find me outside on the trails running, showering cute dogs with love or volunteering on campus!
